Dr John and Dr Stevenson - Welcome to Ventnor Medical Centre

 INFORMATION FOR PATIENTS REGARDING

WUHAN NOVEL CORONAVIRUS INFECTION

General  Information about the coronavirus can be found at https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/

Due to the Covid-19 outbreak we are experiencing high demand for consultations.  In response, and to limit the risk to vulnerable patients of unnecessary contact, we are reducing face to face consultations whilst increasing GP time available for e-consult and telephone consultations.

If you have a high temperature in excess of 37.8 degrees centigrade and or have a new cough, please do not come into the practice but stay at home and self-isolate for 7 days. Ideally use the link https://111.nhs.uk/service/covid-19 to the 111 Online Service that will give immediate advice or contact a practice doctor using the e-consult link below. If you feel you would still like to talk with a GP please call our usual number and discuss your symptoms with one of our trained patient advisors.

Please be aware that as the situation develops the practice has temporarily withdraw certain routine procedures so that patients with the highest need can be prioritised and we reduce the risk of patients and clinicians being infected.  We thank you for your cooperation and understanding during this challenging time.

Please note NHS 111 is experiencing very high call volumes, see below internet based 111 advice as an alternative to making a call.

Patients who are concerned that they may have coronavirus or may have come into contact with someone who has, the NHS 111 online service has created coronavirus pages that tell patients what they should do next based on their particular circumstances. These can be accessed at: https://111.nhs.uk/service/covid-19

Public Health England has produce a site offering advice and top tips on how to look after your mental wellbeing during this period when many are isolated and worried or anxious.
